Born in 1959, Héctor Negretti studied architecture at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism in the University of Zulia from where he graduated in 1986.
 
Between 1986-2006, he served as independent consultant architect and gained experience in interdisciplinary team coordinatation for architecture and urban projects. He founded with other professionals the consultancy firm “Cooperativa Desarrollos y Gestiones Integrales” (Integrated Development and Management Cooperative) in 2006 which specializes in the development of Eco-sustainable urban projects and facilitating community process for Eco-literacy and Eco-entrepreneurship.
 
Since 2007, he's been coordinating interdisciplinary teams develop the terms of reference for new projects for the Eco-sustainable cities and towns in Venezuela, and the Master Plan for the country's first ecological city, prepared for PDVSA Desarrollos Urbanos (PDVSA´s Urban Development).
 
In 2000, he won National Contest Ideas II: “Proposals for Neighborhood Physical Habilitation". Within the framework of this project in 2003 he has been awarded a special mention in the National Contest VII: Research Home Edition with his work: "Integrated Community Empowerment".
