Ahmet Misbah Demircan

He was born in Kasımpaşa, Istanbul in 1967. He is graduated from Behçet Kemal Çağlar High School in 1987, completed his bachelor degree in Marmara University, Faculty of Theology and his master degree in the same university, in Political History and International Relations.
His professional career started as a tourist guide. After experiencing various types of tourism, he became the general manager of a private tourism company. His relations with the non-governmental organizations started with the position which he held at MUSIAD’s (Association of Independent Manufacturers and Businessmen) Foreign Affairs and Reorganization Commission. Subsequently, he worked in different positions in TURSAB (Association of Turkish Travel Agencies), he served in AKP Headquarters Tourism Commission as a Vice President.
He was a parliamentary candidate for Istanbul 2nd Zone in General Elections on November 3, 2002. He was a candidate for Mayoralty of Beyoğlu in Local Elections on 28 March 2004 and 29 March 2009 and was elected as a Mayor.
