Sinan Genim

Sinan Genim was born in Kuzguncuk in 1945. He has completed his secondary education in Haydarpaşa High School and his undergraduate study in DGSA Graduate School of Architecture. He has received the title of M.Arch. with his graduate study in DMMA Architecture Department Measured Drawing / Restoration Main Scientific Division and the title of Ph. D with his thesis on "Settlement of İstanbul" from İstanbul University Faculty of Literature, History of Art Department, Turkish and Islamic Arts Chair. He has worked as assistant in İDGSA in 1970-76, instructor in İU Faculty of Literature in 1974-81, in İDGSA in 1976-83 and in MSU in 1983-91 and still continues to give lectures in MU Faculty of Fine Arts. He has worked as the Architect of National Palaces between the years 1961-1971.

He has been missioned as İstanbul IInd Conservation Council member between the years 1989-92. He has been executing the administrative council chairmanship of Turkey Conservation of Monument Environment and Tourism Values Foundation since 1997 and the architecture of Patara Ruins Excavation since 2000. He has realized many projects including restorations, residences, museums, automotive showrooms, depot-administrative buildings and factories. He has various exhibition arrangements, articles, declarations, conferences, TV and Radio interviews and documentaries on our cultural heritage.
