Savaş Zafer Şahin Atılım Üniversitesi Urban Planner

Born in Ankara, 1974. He started working as an urban planner just after graduated from middle East Technical University's Dept. Of City and Regional Planning in 1996. We worked as an urban planner and Project manager in various central and local government institutions. He has been given several national and international awards for his planning and design work. Alongside his planning experience, he realized academic studies on especially local governments, urbanization, decentralization and local politics. In 2007, he has been awarded with PhD Degree in The Middle East Technical University, Dept. Of Politics and Public Administration with his doctoral dissertation titled "Politics of Urban Planning in Ankara between 1985 and 2005". At the end of the year 2009, he joined Dept. Of Politics and Public Administration in Atılım University as a full-time lecturer. Alongside his career as an academician and practitioner he was also an active NGO leader as the member of Turkish National Chamber of City Planners and METU Alumni. He is married with twin kids.
